Bill Walker is a veteran of more than four decades of experience in higher education communications and marketing, having served in senior leadership positions with Dartmouth College, Rutgers University, the University of Arizona, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the College of William and Mary in Virginia.
Walker most recently served for one year during a presidential transition as Interim Senior Vice President for Marketing and Communications at the University of Arizona, overseeing the departments of Marketing and Brand Management and University Communications, and leading the development and implementation of a marketing and branding plan for the University of Arizona/Banner Health joint medical group.
He earlier served for two years as Interim Vice President for Advancement Resources at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in Washington, DC, where he oversaw communications programming for an association representing some 70,000 advancement professionals at more than 3,500 member institutions worldwide. In addition to his work as a senior administrator, Walker has also served as a communications consultant for North Carolina State University, the Naval Postgraduate School, Emma Willard School and CASE.
Walker has been a leader in the higher education communications profession throughout his career, having served on the Board of Trustees of CASE and the Association of American Universities Public Affairs Network and acting as chair of CASE’s international Commission on Communications and Marketing and the CASE Summer Institute in Communications and Marketing.
A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Walker has lectured frequently on public relations, journalism, communications and education administration to national and international audiences.
